Remote learners

During lockdown, pupils will continue their learning from home each day. This will take place via class Dojo.  Our home learning will be the equivalent in length to the core teaching of pupils.  Children will be tasked to complete activities that include reading (or phonics), writing and maths. Our provision will reflect the government guidance of a minimum 3 hours for KS1 children and 4 hours for KS2.

Our digital platform for remote learning (Dojo) enables us to interact, assess and give feedback to children.    Each week staff will upload weekly overviews and each day videos will be uploaded to support activities.  Children will also be expected to use reading eggs and TTStars for older children.  We have systems in place for checking, daily, whether pupils are engaging with their work, and will work with families to rapidly identify effective solutions where engagement is a concern.

In addition teachers will be contacting the children in their class regularly by phone.  We wont miss a birthday, street dance Emma will be sharing online dance sessions and watch out for some Mrs Allen assemblies.

The Department for Education have supplied us with a very small number of devices to support pupils learning from home who may not have access to a device or may have to share. Unfortunately, this allocation of devices may not be sufficient to support all families who request a device, but we will provide as many as possible to support learning from home.

We have already contacted families who do not have any devices and distributed school iPads and notebooks to families who have to share a device. If you require a device and we have not been in touch, please contact the school.

Devices remain the property of the school and all families issued with one will be required to agree to terms and conditions around damage, loss and unacceptable use.
